<i><b><i><b>Former
President of Ijaw Youth Congress (IYC) and leader of Niger Delta Peoples
Volunteer Force (NDPVF) Asari Dokubo on has said that those those who
want President Goodluck Jonathan impeached are looking for another
civil war.</b></i><br />
</b></i>
<br />
“we are saying that nothing must happen to Jonathan because if anything
happens to him, the world will know.”<br />
Speaking on the Boko Haram insurgency, Mr Dokubo said “the arrogance
of Boko Haram is un-Islamic. The type of bomb they are using is small.
If we begin to throw bombs, nobody will stay in Abuja. We don’t
manufacture bomb but we will buy them and dynamites. I started armed
struggle in the Niger Delta. It is because of Goodluck Jonathan that we
kept quiet.<br />
The former militant leader further said it was an insult on President
Jonathan for him to be asked by Boko Haram to convert to Islam or
resign his position. He warned that the Ijaw nation will retaliate
should anything happen to the president.<br />

Christianity as many people know
it permits a man to marry only one wife, the strict doctrine of monogamy
is preached among all Christians<br />
While Nigerian pastors are blessing and ordaining thieves in the
Church, buying fleets of cars, jets and building empires, Zairean
pastors are doing as well, blessing as many as three women to one man.<br />
Pictured above is a man standing in front of a pastor who is blessing
the marriage of a man to as many as three women at a time. The funny
thing here is that the pastor is also going to quote from the same Holy
bible.<br />

One day, a Pastor from a
pentecostal church came to visit me at my house. This Pastor was
accompanied by an elderly woman.</b>
<br />
They found me at home with my friend of mine, who had come to visit
me from Choma in Luapula, Zambia. After the introductions, the Pastor
started encouraging us about going to church and believing in God
always. <br />
<br />
Later on, he asked to talk to me privately. During our
private talk, he said I was still single because an evil curse has been
place on me from my father’s family. He said the following Wednesday,
both of us should pray and fast so as to unveil the way forward through
God's revelation. <br />
<br />
After the fast on that day, we had prayers
and later in the week, he asked me to see him. When I met him, he told
me that in order for my curse to be broken, I needed to offer a
sacrifice to God. He asked me what I valued most. I told him it was my
salary. <br />
<br />
I agreed to offer a sacrifice in form of money
(salary). He told me that once I was ready with that money, I should
contact him so that he could give me the guidelines on how the
sacrifice was to be offered because sacrifices are not offered anyhow. <br />
<br />
When
I got the money, I sent a message to him. He asked me to go to his
house where he gave me some scriptures and instructions. The
instructions were that between 11:30pm and 12am, I should take off all
my clothes and be uncloth (alone in my bedroom). <br />
<br />
According to
him, God does not delight in nakedness so he will give me what I ask
for from Him, get the money and put it in my hands and sing some
worship songs and later pray with the money in my hands and then take
the money to church the following day. <br />
<br />
I agreed to do this, but
when I reached home I started feeling undecided of what to do.
Something within me told me that no one in the Bible had ever given a
sacrifice to God whilst uncloth. The whole thing became confusing and
in the end, I just started crying because I was filled with fear and
confusion. <br />
<br />
I ended up not doing it. I told myself that I was
not going to do something which I did not fully understand. The
following day, the pastor asked me if I had done what I was told to do,
I told him that I had not done so. He said I was too weak in faith by
allowing myself to be succumbed to the devil. <br />
<br />
I asked him if I
could just pray with the sacrifice in one of the nights when we have an
overnight services at church. He said no. He claimed that the
sacrifice has to be prayed for alone in my bedroom. I started asking
friends, but I got different views. <br />
<br />
Some were saying it was a
strange thing, others said I should go ahead with it. My humble request
from you readers is to know what you think? I might learn something

<div align="center">
<i><span style="color: #000053;"><b>William Lyon Phelps speech on The Pleasure of Books<br />1933</b></span></i></div>
<div align="justify">
<span style="color: #000053;"><b>The habit of reading is one of the greatest resources of mankind; and we enjoy reading books that <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD4">belong to</span>
us much more than if they are borrowed. A borrowed book is like a guest
in the house; it must be treated with punctiliousness, with a certain
considerate formality. You must see that it sustains no damage; it must
not suffer while under your roof. You cannot leave it carelessly, you
cannot mark it, you cannot turn down the pages, you cannot use it
familiarly. And then, some day, although this is seldom done, you really
ought to return it. <br /><br />But your own books belong to you; you treat
them with that affectionate intimacy that annihilates formality. Books
are for use, not for show; you should own no book that you are afraid to
mark up, or afraid to place on the table, wide open and face down. A
good reason for marking favorite passages in books is that this practice
enables you to remember more easily the <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD8">significant</span>
sayings, to refer to them quickly, and then in later years, it is like
visiting a forest where you once blazed a trail. You have the pleasure
of going over the old ground, and recalling both the intellectual
scenery and your own earlier self. <br /><br />Everyone should begin
collecting a private library in youth; the instinct of private property,
which is fundamental in human beings, can here be cultivated with every
advantage and no evils. One should have one's own bookshelves, which
should not have doors, glass windows, or keys; they should be free and
accessible to the hand as well as to the eye. The best of mural
decorations is books; they are more varied in color and appearance than
any wallpaper, they are more attractive in <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD5">design</span>,
and they have the prime advantage of being separate personalities, so
that if you sit alone in the room in the firelight, you are surrounded
with intimate friends. The knowledge that they are there in plain view
is both stimulating and refreshing. You do not have to read them all.
Most of my indoor life is spent in a room containing six thousand books;
and I have a stock answer to the invariable question that comes from
strangers. "Have you read all of these books?"<br />"Some of them twice." This reply is both true and unexpected. <br /><br />There
are of course no friends like living, breathing, corporeal men and
women; my devotion to reading has never made me a recluse. How could it?
Books are of the people, by the people, for the people. Literature is
the immortal part of history; it is the best and most enduring part of
personality. But book-friends have this advantage over living friends;
you can enjoy the most truly aristocratic society in the world whenever
you want it. The great dead are beyond our physical reach, and the great
living are usually almost as inaccessible; as for our personal friends
and acquaintances, we cannot always see them. Perchance they are asleep,
or away on a journey. But in a private library, you can at any moment
converse with Socrates or Shakespeare or Carlyle or Dumas or Dickens or
Shaw or Barrie or Galsworthy. And there is no doubt that in these books
you see these men at their best. They wrote for you. They "laid
themselves out," they did their ultimate best to entertain you, to make a
favorable impression. You are necessary to them as an audience is to an
actor; only instead of seeing them masked, you look into their
innermost heart of heart. <br /><br />William Lyon Phelps - 1933</b></span></div>

A woman beats foster son to death over N50! <br />
The woman was stripped naked and made to carry the corpse of the dead boy
around her area. The sad incident happened on Sunday on Amosu Street,
Ijegun, in Lagos.<br />
<br />
The woman known locally as Iya Anu beat her 16 year old foster son,
Seubow, to death for allegedly stealing N50. Seybow was Iya Anu's
husband's nephew.<br />
<br />
According to neighbours, trouble started after Seubow lost the N1,000
given to him by Iya Anu to run an errand for her some days back. Angered
by the loss which she claimed was theft, the woman refused to feed
Seubow for over four days. When the teenager couldn't take the hunger
anymore, he sneaked out to buy gala one night. When Iya Anu found out,
she accused him of stealing her N50 and beat him up, using a rod. She
battered him for days until he gave the ghost on Sunday afternoon. <br />
<br />
After his death, neighbours rounded the woman up and made her carry the
boy's corpse to the police station. If only the neighbours had
intervened earlier. This wasn't the first she would batter him. The
photo on the right was taken in June at a police station where Iya Anu
was taken to after seriously battering the boy. No one came to his
rescue and he ended up dying in her hands. Sad!<br />Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08873465063046661277noreply@blogger.com0
